Why We Should Celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day

We need to resist against hate, xenophobia, and all forms of oppression against Christopher Columbus for what he has done to Indigenous people. We shall celebrate Indigenous People’s Day.

How To Be a Better American

bumpersticker_trump-1.png

America’s neighbor, Canada—someone from there left me a comment to tell me that I need to be a better American and leave Donald Trump alone. I’ve been bred and buttered in America since 1974. I’ve walked through school halls being constantly bullied by hearing peers everyday. I’ve been suspended several times just because I was standing up and protect myself from bullies. I was taught to follow American values—I’ve been breathing through thick air for 365 days a year for next 42 years.

Oh, I also remember growing up in schools telling me to respect American flag and yet I was mocked for being Deaf. That tells a lot, right? Oddly, I feel compelled to explain what an American flag is all about—today in current political climate under Trump, the flag is now seen as a taboo. When a person from Canada tells me that I need to be a ‘better American’.

What the person does not know that in 1970s, Trump and his father was constantly bully and discriminate Black people in several American cities when they were looking for a place to rent out for their human necessities as we all do to have a roof over our heads. They were profiled. The Department of Justice (DOJ) took them to the court for racial discrimination and the violation of Fair Housing Act. Was the person from Canada aware of this?

Oh, Trump has a huge list of history mocking Native Americans. In 1993, he was called out to testify front of congressional testimony and the true colors came out of Trump’s mouth when he said, “They don’t look like Indians to me and they don’t look like Indians to Indians.” Damn! That is a hate speech, folks! I’m part of Cherokee and I did not really appreciate what Trump said. Where did he learn that? His father. Hate is a learned behavior. You ever notice that Trump never talks about his mother? Tsk tsk. Wait, do not forget what Trump lied to the media that he was not aware of protestors at Standing Rock. That’s one damn lying sack of shit!

Back in 2013, I attended a conference at National Museum of the American Indian, Racist Stereotypes and Cultural Appropriation in American Sports to fight against systematic racism. Is that not a better American?

For the last few days has been difficult for America to deal with Trump’s lies and he was the one who incited political violence. He is a rampant xenophobic, racist, misogynist and a very bad actor to cover up his lies. Now, that person from Canada tells me to be a better American. Guess what? I am—because I am fighting against all forms of hate, systematic racism, and we are witnessing increasing violence by angry racists who are targeting Muslims, immigrants, LGBTQ people, minority communities and Deaf community as well. We are witnessing…invisible consequences. Seriously!

As a better American, it is my civic responsibility to inform Deaf community that we need to get Trump impeached, jailed, and out of the office for the highest treason and incite political violence. It is also all of our duties to put hate groups out of business, and of course, seeking justice for survivors of discrimination. As for the American flag we see everyday, old America was not built on faith, it was built on hate and violence and we do not need history repeating again. Trump is bringing old America back.

Hence, “America First”—that’s bullshit. My maternal and paternal great grandfathers were immigrants who fled from Ireland, Scotland, and Germany for safety and opportunity. They were granted immigration, and seek for better life for themselves and their families. My own families. Do not forget my Cherokee families, too.

I will not let Trump’s “politics” to corrupt my own American flag I was taught to follow American values. Back in 2007, as an undergraduate student signing up for Hate Crime and Bias course, that changed my life forever. A year later, I voted for Obama and was very proud to know that Obama was my president. The next day after Obama won the election, I remember showing up for a class, it was practically empty because everyone was partying so hard and cried for a change.

FLG439.jpg

That was the real America we are talking about because we were sick of systemic racism everyday and believed that it is change to erase hate because we have no place for hate anymore. When the white supremacists causing major violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, they wanted to “take America back”—OK, the real question, maybe make it a sociological question—take it back for what? From whom? Why? For what kind of purpose? I do not really understand this at all.  Trump does not represent American flag. No way!

By telling me that I need to be a better American and leave Trump alone does not sit well with me.

Greatest Mistake….

Today in 2017, Deaf people are continually battered and harassed by discrimination, injustice and hate by Alexander Graham Bell’s policy which is the greatest mistake…..

Twitter of the Oppressed

a859d31e-1825-424d-b0f7-b76028abbe05-large16x9_Transgenderbanreax4.jpg

Here it goes again! Trump: Commander in Chief of Hate. He announced today that he is going to ban transgender anyone who serves in the military. Trump is definitely the dumb-fuckest president in history—hands down!

The ironic thing is that keep in mind, Hate Crime Statistics Act (HSCA) who was signed by President Bush in 1990 and revised in 2009 now named Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, is still valid today in our laws. Are you aware that HSCA requires the current Attorney General Jeff Sessions to collect data on crimes committed because of the race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or ethnicity? It is the law of our eyes!

Trump as President of the United States just committed hate crime because of sexual orientation! How can he get away with it? He uses Twitter “Trumpism” to recruit hate groups to attack ordinary people. He wants more hate members. More hate money. More power. Trump wants to create the most xenophobic campaign ever—energized and emboldened a growing and hate movement. The number of hate groups are growing. Paulo Freire wrote his bestseller book, Pedagogy of the Oppressed that needs to remind all of us:

It is in the interest of the oppressor to weaken the oppressed still further, to isolate them, to create, and deepen rifts among them.”

Trump’s 100 days already—actions are all about hate agenda. Enough. We need to fight against hate. We need to take our justice and equality back. This is more crucial than ever. When Trump was chosen to be president, the murders of transgenders are at all-time high already. No joke! Never xenophobia! Never ignorance! Never bullying! Never hatred! I support transgender soldiers! Shame on Trump!

Deaf Community: Join and Fight Hate!

The Invisible Hate: A Forgotten Fear of Deaf People

hippocampus-ft.jpg

Imagine this…

It baffles me the most when American people pay taxes and allow shootings to kill Deaf people either they are ignorant or refuse to learn about Deaf culture, the brain wired with hatred is still there.

When a person is stopped on a corner and see two pedestrians whom both are Deaf signing to each other while walking in the crosswalk. The person would walk up to them out of the corner and tell them, “TO GET LOST”[It could happen anytime, folks—you never know]

The country is now unpredictable. We are living in a country filled with hatred. There are a lot of people who are fearful of Deaf people even in our backyards.

It is travesty and poses a very serious burden on Deaf people in America. They face high risk anytime. Does anybody think it would fly a moral or legal defense when our own American people do not understand how to work with Deaf people? Is it not fair?

Hate crime is not even recognized in Deaf community—literally, not today or tomorrow. Why is that? They get away with it because the society let them. Haters dump their toxic waste on American Sign Language (ASL) because people would say it is not normal to see Deaf people signing with their hands—and processing their xenophobic attitude would not cost taxpayers and profit a lot of money from allowing hate crime and Audism.

The question, why do Deaf people have to pay the price in the first place when they are all innocent? The cost of a Deaf person would cause serious health concerns—not a joke—where are the fair justice for Deaf people?

So, the society refuses to recognize hate crime is the parallel claim that as an America—they encourage so much that their efforts would get praise from other people cheering to practice hate crime targeting Deaf people. It is a great loss for words, and we are the most invisible minority in America—maybe in the world. That’s the beauty of American democracy which is bit messed up.

Yet, the United States Constitution lacks of respect to protect Deaf people. We know that the importance of Deaf people depends on our society to reduce hate crime globally. If we seek for help from our hearing allies and save our Deaf community, they need to fight against hate crime, too. It would make a lot safer, hmm?

Removing IDEA From Department of Education: Are We Being Setting Up For Failure?

6499680777_39fba9d4af_b.jpg

Human Right to Education “Key 3”. Christian Avendaño Cendales.

Hours after the Department of Education has nominated the person who is in charge as secretary, Betsy DeVos has created a huge mess at this hour. Ignorance, human rights violation, even segregation–propelled by economic expansion and justified by dirty money has informed us the Deaf community what the Department of Education is today.

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act [IDEA] has been removed from Department of Education’s website that was supposed to ignite networking through healthy channels and promote human rights; yet, it is not the same anymore.

Betsy DeVos, and those ignorant people who voted for DeVos need access to a history that is honest what Deaf people and people with disabilities has been going through hardships.  What do we mean by history? Let’s shall find out and go from there. Maybe then it would be easier for them, and the rest of us, to make history that is progressive and inclusive.

In this way, DeVos creates room to remove Deaf people to doubt their current mentality. This doubt serves as the foundation on which she builds the rest of her arguments, citing that IDEA is not important–“up to the states” and shows prejudice is forcefully pointed out. Her debate urges the Department of Education to stay with the status quo. Given this logic, the oppressors against human rights movements are equal to those in removing IDEA off the face of the country’s fundamental human rights.

From there, DeVos outlines the logic behind equality and ignorance. Her debate holds that, while Deaf people and people with disabilities are not actually equal, they should be considered to be wiped out.

As a supporter of IDEA myself because I was one of them, we need to recognize the essence of DeVos’s work stands as a call to remove IDEA from the website to adjust hypocrisy at finest hour. Do we even realize what DeVos has downplayed xenophobic as well? The Department of Education needs to boycott DeVos for the sake of humanity.

Will It Impact on Deaf Muslims from Attending Gallaudet University?

President Trump: Please Stay out of Deaf Community!

IMG_0943.JPG

From yesterday’s reading: Washington Post Express. Trump is one true narcissistic leader of the free world.

With blocking people from Muslim countries into America and demanding a wall to build in Mexico, removing LGBT and people with disabilities page on White House’s website is not cool.

President Trump first component cites that White people are thought of as members of Earth’s community of life and feels they should hold that membership ONLY that deny the same terms that and reject to all people (Deaf people, Native Americans, people of color, people with disabilities, LGBT, etc.). Trump wants the white supremacy back on the map.

The second component President Trump states that the Racism, Xenophobia, Bigotry, Hate Crime, Hated Speech, Hate Literature, Islamophobia, Homophobia, and not to forget other phobias, as a totality as seen as a complex web of interconnected elements, with sound biological functioning of the others. Thirdly, President Trump argues that all the Neo-Nazi sympathizers are conceived as a hate center of life, pursuing its own good in a harmful way.

The last component Trump states that whether we are concerned with standards of merit or with the concept of inherent worth, the claim that white people by their very nature as superior to oppress all the people above is a groundless claim and, in the light of the first three components, must be rejected as nothing more than an irrational bias and hatred in Trump’s own favour.

Trump’s strongest arguments are invalid. As humans are a recent addition to Earth, it is interesting that Trump thinks that White supremacy would consider itself to hold such a status of superiority. In addition, it is apparent from the dynamics of the hate chain and various xenophobic cycles that balance is key to the success of making sure RACISM is on the RISE.

This is evident from the avid protection of human rights. It is calculable how the decimation and eradication of people has feeding Trump’s mind to view negative impact and raise the white supremacy.

In response to sentience as a component of consideration, we need to extend our definition past that of support all the human rights for people again I described above. Through bacteria of hate do not have a mind or the capacity for suffering. Trump’s goals consist of those deep-hatred roots in the basic needs of white supremacy, which are to reproduce, grow, repair when damaged up to a point, metabolize with inputs and outputs (maintain themselves in terms of energy) and protect themselves.

I feel that, overall, the strongest claim in support of the respect of all human need that do not need to deal filled with hate. We cannot do without each other to fight against hate. Though we can do better without him.

President Trump’s goals to throw Racism and the secret of hate-codes in our faces has no intrinsic worth greater than us is either not inherently true or inherently true. It is a moral claim. President Trump’s strongest ideology in support of his last component deals with White Ideology. Complete reason is a source of inherent worth unique and essential to white superiority, yet reason is only of value for white people only.

If this were so, it would create a world of hatred among us that President Trump is attempting to destroy with the people he loathes the most in his argument. Deaf community do not need a president like that. It’s not an American value nor democracy.

How would we stop the laundry of hate: Racism, Xenophobia, Bigotry, Islamophobia, Audism, ‘isms?

Word of the Year: Xenophobia
