American Democracy: Is It Broken?

What is democracy in America today? Is it broken?

Vote. Vote. Vote. Election is an important factor. Why? Democracy. What is democracy meant to you? In the past, democracy in America used to be respected. Now today’s democracy in America, it’s getting worse and broken. It is truly a constitutional crisis, ripping up United States Constitution, ignoring the respect of law, for example, a picture of Trump ripping up the U.S. Constitution in the root of the rich money. Federal laws were violated, bribery, and ignoring legal jeopardy.

What is democracy? The author, Alexis de Tocqueville wrote a book, “Democracy in America”, is a large book, 500+ pages, understanding the depth of democracy, the quality of life, this book is highly recommended to read. I feel that it is important to share this information, where I have not seen anyone in the Deaf community discuss about this topic.

The Washington Post published recently,

“Trump is supposed to be preparing to hand over power. Will the government be ready?”

where it discusses under federal law, a President must report to Congress on pre-election presidential transition preparations twice: once at six months ahead and again at three months near before the election. We’ve passed the six months mark already. Nothing has happened.

What does it meant to you about that? Let’s take a look at Alexis de Tocqueville’s quote:

“The surface of American society is covered with a layer of democratic paint, but from time to time one can see the old aristocratic colours breaking through.”

 

MAGA HATS: Hate-Filled Literature at Native Rally

Are MAGA HATS making America great again? In the light of hate-filled literature mocking, and intimidating Native Americans is trying to make America great again is not even close. Whose land belongs to in the first place? Silence equals hate. We need to stop hate targeting Native Americans.

Yes, the shooter from church killing in Texas was white. His name was Devin Patrick Kelley. First and foremost, we need to be aware that White people are way worst terrorists than Muslims in America. That’s true! I am not kidding. We must never be ignorant in any way whatsoever. The white supremacy continues in the wake of shooting anywhere. Muslims are never more dangerous than white people. Never!

National Rifle Association (NRA) has been always stronghold of Republicans. Even Charlie Sykes said that the GOP is “in the thrall of the NRA”–and the majority of Republicans are White and racists.

What does “thrall” means?  It means the state of being in someone’s power or having great power over someone.

Can we become involved–becomes a real part of the process even at the greatest distance to stop the power of NRA? Gun violence has been the major problem in America for long time. Talk about it! Get other involved and concerned about gun violence. Follow the progress to stop gun violence. The most importantly, we should write letters to Congress.

In this time of crisis, it is us who should not hold out, by our very nature, the deepest vision of healing and peace that is possible for America. Time for all of us to enter into the collective unconscious because it is by our nature alone that we make a difference in stopping gun violence in America, but by our actions, our thoughts, in our coming together as Americans.

Trump needs a blow slap on the back of his head. With the money purse from NRA, they are appropriating gun violence in the wrong way. Gun violence, white terrorists and white supremacy are the problem, it is a death warrant, and ignoring them is a problem. How come we did not recognize the language that changed so much in its own frequency right after Trump was elected almost a year ago? The number of hate crimes has been on the rise more than ever. The majority of people who committed hate crimes since November 2016: White people.

The Healing of Deaf America: Health Care Rights

I would like to thank Senator McCain for his bravery and voted against the idea by Republicans to get rid of ObamaCare. I would like to wish him a speedy recovery during his difficult time. As a heart attack survivor five times, I am all too familiar with the difficult road I’ve traveled slowly to improve my health—not fully recovery yet.

Heart disease is one of worst health diagnosis in America; I cannot imagine the devastating diagnosis of heart attack for anyone, particularly my mother who survived heart attack four times. I’ve seen it all and stayed in the battle with my mother. She is a strong person and I’ve inherited that from my mother.

I still do not understand why health care continues to be very difficult topic in this “land of free” country. Politics and all those bullshit insurance companies are ruining many Americans. This has to be stopped.

Years ago, when I took an undergraduate course, Sociology of Health and Medicine for one of my electives, I was really blown away how I had learned so much about the social contexts of health disparities, institutions, and the medicalization of health and illness. I remember being lectured in the classroom about the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, explains that humans have the right to medical care, and the professor made sure we were aware of it.

Also, it is also important to be aware about the 1966 International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights explaining the international including America should have excellent health and medicine rights. It was unbelievable! Anyone who is living in Canada, Mexico, England, Cuba, and other countries who have way better health care than America, still blows my mind away!

On the other hand, I must think how much suffering Deaf people deal with health care everyday. The majority of Deaf population might be on Medicaid or Medicare. The question, I still do not understand why Deaf people who voted for Trump and supported his agenda including health care. How can they not think of its own people, Deaf people who suffer everyday including the “bankruptcy” in their lives? The sick and damned of Deaf people is a human right violation! The idea of repealing ObamaCare is beyond my comprehension.

Senator McCain including two Republican senators, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski and the entire Democrats saved Deaf community—thank you! They are the backbone of saving lives! Thank you for the value of human rights!

Watching Betsy DeVos and Donald Trump is like a set of movies in order or perhaps a sequence. Cutting 9.2 Billion dollars for Education is a big insult to the American people. LBTQA and Black students including Deaf students are America’s future students that should not be demoralized and oppressed!

Tackling Islamophobia at Home

Earlier this evening, I attended an event called Tackling Islamophobia at Home sponsored by District of Columbia Public Library. There were about 10 Deaf people who attended tonight. The ASL interpreters did a great job! From the website, what the event would be about:

Incidents of discrimination and violence against Muslims are on the rise across the United States. What is driving the rise in Islamophobia, and how can we all play a role in making our community safer? Join us for a panel discussion with local Muslim leaders on Islamophobia in the District and the nation, the response from the American Muslim community, and how American Muslims and others can work together to build a more understanding and integrated future.

The panelists had shared their stories and experiences which I learned a great deal of awareness tonight. One of the panelists said that tonight that 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has declined to reinstate Donald Trump’s ban on travels from seven predominantly Muslims nations were joyful to know that! I cheered, smiled, and happy that the judges know the Constitution. Trump does not run the Constitution. Trump’s attempt to hide the truth behind the cover-ups and hatred is to question his presidency. We will not be in silence. We will not allow hate in America.

With Trump thinking he is in control of government, he is bidding for an open war on the Muslims. We all must resist his hatred. There were questions handed to the panelists with the index card where they write down questions, I wrote a question hoping they would pick the question since there were LOTS of questions–very interesting questions. Unfortunately, it was too late to ask that question. My question was, “Since Trump has encouraged hate crime, could Trump be charged with hate crime? Has it ever happened to an American president before?”

President Trump: Please Stay out of Deaf Community!

From yesterday’s reading: Washington Post Express. Trump is one true narcissistic leader of the free world.

With blocking people from Muslim countries into America and demanding a wall to build in Mexico, removing LGBT and people with disabilities page on White House’s website is not cool.

President Trump first component cites that White people are thought of as members of Earth’s community of life and feels they should hold that membership ONLY that deny the same terms that and reject to all people (Deaf people, Native Americans, people of color, people with disabilities, LGBT, etc.). Trump wants the white supremacy back on the map.

The second component President Trump states that the Racism, Xenophobia, Bigotry, Hate Crime, Hated Speech, Hate Literature, Islamophobia, Homophobia, and not to forget other phobias, as a totality as seen as a complex web of interconnected elements, with sound biological functioning of the others. Thirdly, President Trump argues that all the Neo-Nazi sympathizers are conceived as a hate center of life, pursuing its own good in a harmful way.

The last component Trump states that whether we are concerned with standards of merit or with the concept of inherent worth, the claim that white people by their very nature as superior to oppress all the people above is a groundless claim and, in the light of the first three components, must be rejected as nothing more than an irrational bias and hatred in Trump’s own favour.

Trump’s strongest arguments are invalid. As humans are a recent addition to Earth, it is interesting that Trump thinks that White supremacy would consider itself to hold such a status of superiority. In addition, it is apparent from the dynamics of the hate chain and various xenophobic cycles that balance is key to the success of making sure RACISM is on the RISE.

This is evident from the avid protection of human rights. It is calculable how the decimation and eradication of people has feeding Trump’s mind to view negative impact and raise the white supremacy.

In response to sentience as a component of consideration, we need to extend our definition past that of support all the human rights for people again I described above. Through bacteria of hate do not have a mind or the capacity for suffering. Trump’s goals consist of those deep-hatred roots in the basic needs of white supremacy, which are to reproduce, grow, repair when damaged up to a point, metabolize with inputs and outputs (maintain themselves in terms of energy) and protect themselves.

I feel that, overall, the strongest claim in support of the respect of all human need that do not need to deal filled with hate. We cannot do without each other to fight against hate. Though we can do better without him.

President Trump’s goals to throw Racism and the secret of hate-codes in our faces has no intrinsic worth greater than us is either not inherently true or inherently true. It is a moral claim. President Trump’s strongest ideology in support of his last component deals with White Ideology. Complete reason is a source of inherent worth unique and essential to white superiority, yet reason is only of value for white people only.

If this were so, it would create a world of hatred among us that President Trump is attempting to destroy with the people he loathes the most in his argument. Deaf community do not need a president like that. It’s not an American value nor democracy.

How would we stop the laundry of hate: Racism, Xenophobia, Bigotry, Islamophobia, Audism, ‘isms?
