The Face of New £50 Banknote: Think Resist!

IMG_2003.PNG

The news appeared on November 27, 2018: So, the Bank of England has been considering Alexander Graham Bell’s face on paper money for his contribution to “science”—someone who was two-faced gaslighter as I found interesting the definition of “gaslighter”—When a gaslighter thinks that they are not the problem and everyone else is, this is called having an ego-syntonic personality. (Jan 30, 2017: psychology today.com)

Alexander Graham Bell thinks he is not the problem, but thinks Deaf people are the problem. He is the poster child of gaslighter. “Science”—from the dictionary: the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.

Whether Bank of England considered his name, because of his idea to create telephone that changed the face of humans, but there is another hidden science what Alexander Graham Bell has contributed to use Deaf children as lab experiment. It was a tradition of genocide.

If the Bank of England has chosen Alexander Graham Bell as the top choice, people who would carry paper money with his face around in the pocket, wallet, coat, purse, whatever it is, to remind those people that it is OK to allow Deaf-hating ideologist, with the ultimate goal of eradicating Deaf people in the name of hate crime is the greatest threat to Deaf people’s democracy.

We need to remind ourselves two quotes by the world’s leading eugenicist of the Deaf people:

“The main object of the education of the deaf is to fit them to live in the world of a hearing-speaking people.”

“We should try ourselves to forget that they are deaf. We should try to teach to forget that they are deaf.”

Power hunger or power struggle? As the Deaf community enter the global phrase of being under-privileged, it becomes obvious that the money is the root of evil. The paper money of AGBell’s face oppressing of the most invisible minority are dangerous, requiring a huge commitment of cultural appropriation to accomplish their renewal and rebuilt AGBell’s fame.

_104146182_scientist_boe.jpg

The power of money is complicated by the cycle of oppression constitute consciousness of Deaf people whose lives is limited—denying them the passion. Unfortunately, there is no unique passion that gives the Deaf community break from money-free oppression. Every day, Deaf people are being targeted for big money and character assassination.

Deaf people’s lives are in the danger of cultural appropriation, and that would be undesirable for everyone. It is necessary to fight against hatred practices by Alexander Graham Bell’s ideology that is infectious enough to warrant a protest by members of Deaf community. In this case, hatred will survive because of survival itself and not only because it has been influenced by stories. The goal of creating activism is not to allow Alexander Graham Bell’s face on the paper money, the first kind in the world, and challenge the practices of hate speech.

Truth itself can be revolutionary topic in a society steeped in hearing privileges that makes necessary to take respect away from Deaf people. The society we live in, Alexander Graham Bell is pushing for Surdophobia culture, ‘the fear of Deaf people’ not just because it was deemed cultural hegemony in the eyes of Deaf people but also the ignorance and lack of cultural respect cannot be “un-done”—Deaf people are human beings—they are not human doings.

The awareness of Deaf culture has been grossly neglected in the society, and it is deteriorating. It has nothing to do with right or left really, but the powerful knowledge about Deaf people has skewed for profit and not for facts.

The final question, Is the face of Alexander Graham Bell on paper money, need any more arrogance, the leadership that exploits Deaf children with the lies as they make “deficit-thinking” decisions on those facts and not only on the emotionalized, oppressive of Deaf community and the misinformed public sentiment? Will Bank of England print this image on banknote (paper money bill) like this one below?

HEAR INDIANA: The Recruitment Tactics of Cochlear Implants

ct1.jpg

“Fear is, I believe, a most effective tool in destroying the soul of an individual-and the soul of a people.”–Anwar Sadat

After reading an article called As More Deaf Students Use Cochlear Implants, Indiana Schools Work to Adapt the other day, [I will copy and paste the link below]–“Public schools in Indiana serve about 2,400 students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Of those students a growing number now use cochlear implants” is an act of bullying  them into getting cochlear implant or else. There is a person by the name of Ellyn McCall, family liaison at hearing loss advocacy group Hear Indiana said, ““I like to think that it’s not malicious, it’s just that most of these smaller districts don’t have the training and the knowledge to really be able to understand what these kids need”

Ouch! Ouch! Ellyn McCall is forging American Sign Language (ASL) and have them act like HEARING and that is a malicious act. The quality and quantity of cochlear implants in Indiana is a changing world: Hate Crime. Hear Indiana serves under Alexander Graham Bell  (AGBell) Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

They are attempting to do social changes as we enter the age of international terrorism, striving to destroy the beautiful meaning of DEAF and effect many generations to come on a global level. There are and will be environmental concerns as we run out of non-renewable resources such as ASL for our innumerable, and often encourage hate crime.

Deaf community are at an economic turning point where ASL is difficult to stabilize, due in part to Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing’s lies, outsourcing of labor and volatile stock market prices. Changes in this new century will also bring huge breakthroughs in scientific frauds, complete with its own deficit thinking and moral quandaries over Deaf identification and cure them for “tragic diseases” such as the state of being Deaf.

Another problem that is already apparent and will become more so in the near future is the growing population of cochlear implants in the United States and the world, with attempt to destroy Deaf community with sharing of hate crimes, are bound to reach scarcity as we enter this new era, unless we discard our ASL, and adopt a more effectual way of living by replenishing, reducing, and recycling what we use.

Deaf community are as a powerful and educated community need to conjure more ways to defeat hate crime by those Audists today and tomorrow. For the near future in Deaf community, we need to build an optimistic and innovative attitude of preserving ASL and Deaf culture, with reforms regarding the way we deal with those Audists, and the resources we insist on using ASL in abundance and love, when in fact, the democracy is ideally a good and fair system of representation based on facts, it is likely that ASL will always prevail.

That way ASL and Deaf culture will spend and live in harmony with a populous Earth, and it all other inhabitants. The idea is to wide representation of the demographic of ASL that would be required to include all of them and abilities in the interest of fair representation at every social level. A panel of elected Deaf citizens who use ASL for communication, information, and knowledge from all walks of life that were educated enough to understand that cochlear implant is a fraud that would be called upon to make positive statements that ASL would overcome the lies by cochlear implant industries.

It would also unify many of us who feel betrayed, excluded, confused by the current lies “democratic” system in AGBell, in which often they are often completely unsatisfactory to the fact that they will not accept that ASL is a successful language. While I personally have concerns about AGBell funding for cochlear implants, they are responsible for encouraging hate crime against ASL. Despite the article I read above, the threat of Deaf culture is an act of terrorism that would require moral treatment, and human race is truly one constructed of innovation.

Finally, we must look past our fears and realize that we are entering the age of an oppressive community, where we must all do our part in assuring there will be resources left for our future Deaf children, our children’s children and so forth. We must look to ASL and be willing to make the first brave step into uncharted territory, and be willing to pioneer it responsibly, learning from the way we have transformed our Mother Earth, in order to maintain a healthy environment. It is only when we make these realizations that we have a true chance of surviving and overcome hate, and making the most of what the miracles of earth and life-have to offer the beautiful meaning of Deaf culture and…..ASL.

Cochlear implant is the biggest fraud ever. If not, the most malicious ever.

Starkey Hearing Technologies : For The Thrill of Hate Crime

quote-Anna-Paquin-one-hate-crime-is-committed-approximately-every-97137.png

Well, what a perfect timing! I was not surprised what Starkey Hearing Technologies had been done to exploit Deaf children—for what? Starkey Hearing Technologies has busted in a federal sting yesterday (February 20, 2016). In a Star Tribute quote, “Nov. 17, 2015: Starkey receives letter from federal authorities saying company has been identified as a “possible victim of a crime.”

Wrong! Let’s try to look at reverse psychology. Deaf children who has been exploited by Starkey has been identified as hate crime. Is it not?

HATE= A feeling of aversion or hostility; CRIME= any action that hurts, offends or judges others;

“Sink-or-swim mentality”—Starkey and its all blatant lies told to our general society. Yes! How can we describe in one way which Deaf children should feel punished and one way in which they feel they punish? Explore the thoughts to understand the forms of punishment.

Throughout my school years, I was made to wear amplification so I could hear some loud noises in my ears. I had absolutely no comprehension of any sound put forcefully through my years. I made several hundreds of guesses listening to my teacher and classmates talking on the microphone. My ears hurt, my body hurt, my mind confounded. I was punished for being Deaf.

DEAF=A collectivity: the people as a whole that is regarded as opprobrious, as a source of ignominy (humiliating)

The underlying message for my experience with amplification in and out of school was that it was totally unacceptable to be Deaf, and I must be right in the ways of hearing people. That sucks. Really sucks.

Let’s be realistic. Would they ever will be charged with hate crimes? I doubt. Now the scandal about Starkey Hearing Technologies, imagine Deaf children who were survivors of battery economics aka hearing aids for false images, they had been battling through many detours generated by Starkey’s upheavals and exploitation. It has been long overdue, and there seemed a mission with strategic plans lacking relevance as well as reveal something not previously known or realized.

Time for Deaf community to merge from Starkey’s dirty money and raise “new order” to a new era of Deaf community today. Rome was not built overnight, and it did not decline overnight, either. If Starkey Hearing Technologies is on a shaky ground for Deaf Hate Crime, then it is a good time to know what business plan, to launder monies in promoting hegemony, quoted in Paddy Ladd’s Understanding Deaf Culture: In Search of Deafhood, page 77-78,

the concept of hegemony, as initially presented by Gramsci (1985), is important for the development of a more dynamic reading of patterns in social control, since it emphasises that ideologies perpetually compete for acceptance and domination.”

Starkey Hearing Technologies is about oppressive policies ranging from hiring to firing employees, from educating to exploiting Deaf children, from inspecting to neglecting facilities. Mr. Bill Austin manipulated to turn Starkey Hearing Technologies upside—UP. 800 million dollars.

Time to educate about American Sign Language (ASL)—it is about careful, sustained, and systematic thinking in ASL. It is about a willingness to get the truth and value of ASL, no matter what conclusions would result or how strange it might initially seem. ASL lead to truth and it has potential.

It is good time for Deaf community cooperation more than ever before. The most important among Deaf people—as far as the future of humanity is concerned—is the industry of hearing aids who exploit Deaf children for circus shows, and send false dilemmas and is closely connected to hate crime.

In a book, The Rising Tide of Bigotry and Bloodshed: Hate Crimes quoted by Jack Levin, and Jack McDevitt:

Hate crimes represent one endpoint on the continuum of prejudice and bigotry. For economic as well as psychological reasons, there are countless individuals who feel resentful. They have suffered some loss in self-esteem or status and are eager to place the blame for their loss elsewhere—on those groups and individuals portrayed in the culture of hate as weak, immoral, and uncivilized.”

6945240-This-photograph-represent-a-100-dollar-bill-with-Ben-Franklin-wearing-protective-sunglasses-Stock-Photo.jpgDeaf children who were exploited for Ben Franklin dollars, must have felt resentful. Did they suffer some loss in self-esteem as well, too? Deaf children are portrayed in the culture of hate as weak, immoral, and uncivilized.

That is what the Starkey Hearing Technologies should be charged with: Hate Crime.

Obamacare: Should Cochlear Implant Be Part of Package?

185655_347370528703742_738915819_nDavid Call’s Plague Doctor

What a day in our great country! In Deaf community, it is important to know that the big news yesterday about The Affordable Care Act known as Obamacare has passed to guard the most important act in American history. Nice try, Republicans! President Obama then makes a thunder-bolting message, “What we’re not going to do is unravel what has now been woven into the fabric of America.”

Is cochlear implant [CI] surgery covered in insurance under Obamacare? I hope not. Since Obamacare is a humankind’s natural condition. I hope Obamacare also understand the serious consequences that cochlear implant does not tell us anything; people with CI tells us thing the world need to know. We need to use scientific strategies to investigate the relationship of CI to education. The picture begins here.

Nature vs. Nurture

Again, Nature—it is humankind’s original or natural condition. Nurture—it is something that nourishes or trains. Now some Deaf people have stopped using cochlear implants—when you ask them why stop wearing them, they would say, “My nature is being Deaf.” Even though they were raised nourishing for years and years. Still nature overcomes nurture.

Now, in America’s healthcare with the new law passed, they shall stop training Deaf children in speech and hearing that are nurture while they are not focused on nature of learning in American Sign Language and sign languages. Every group being fair game to this unsavory person makes this practice acceptable, is it not? The message we are missing is the lack of respect for cultural diversity, especially for the oppressed people who are still rejected to this day by the mainstreamed society and who are not empowered yet. This is the key.

Nature vs. Nurture are difficult to discuss in Deaf community because when nurture is unsuccessful, they become anger or disliked that lead the occurrence of belittlement, bigotry, hegemony, etc. Science, as a way of thinking and investigation, is best defined in the truth that cochlear implant is not enough providing channels and is a failure in the eyes of insurance companies. Again, is the cochlear implant surgery covered in Obamacare’s package? You decide.

Being Deaf is the real science of Obamacare. Get rid of plague doctors.

The Questioning of ‘Safe Haven’ in Classrooms

10995415_753713171402807_6188435758275371499_n

Every time I see David Call’s artworks–and gives me a lot of ideas to write!

As alumni for Gallaudet University and a scholar recipient for a graduate program in Deaf Studies, every vote counts. It is the key idea in the Deaf community we live in America, a belief that is easily forgotten about ourselves. The sizable chunk of the electorate does not put the vote in the ballot to heal Deaf citizens with prescriptions every day. That is the power, regardless of the wishes of the voters as a whole.

Like I wrote in my previous blog,

“the Deaf (with capital d) is an archetype within the conscious of all the Deaf that contains our awareness of being Deaf. It is the psychological component that we still think and react to our society like Deaf people, and it is the same component that we are fully aware that the society continues to keep from being able to embrace American Sign Language (ASL).

Of all the betrayals that we the Deaf suffer, perhaps the most poignant of all is the betrayal of ourselves. No example of this is more striking than we remain committed to our being Deaf, that archetypical force which will hinder us from becoming fully empowered users of ASL.

To better understand why we the Deaf betray ourselves, let me present the common patterns of this archetype found within the Deaf community. These patterns include behaviors, perceptions, beliefs, and attitudes of the Deaf. This exploration is intended to help us identify how this archetype force is still in control, and to understand how the Deaf adversely affects our daily lives. They keep us struck, disempowered, and isolated.”  @ Jason “JT” Tozier, 2015

This force can be incredibly powerful, such as depicted by the biblical story in which a word make a Deaf man hear: EPHPHATHA. Gallaudet University has this Christian word in its official seal. The idea is that it “contacts” the Almighty. Very powerful, indeed! It is very discriminating! I, myself, could never associate myself with this word in the university seal.

In 1971, Frederick Schreiber, an executive director for National Association of the Deaf (NAD) coined ‘Deaf Studies’ in his quote, If Deaf people are to get ahead in our time, they must have a better image of themselves and their capabilities. They need concrete examples of what Deaf people have already done so they can project for themselves a brighter future. If we can have Black studies, Jewish studies, why not Deaf studies?” (Note: Quoted in Charles Katz, “A Partial History of Deaf Studies, in Deaf Studies VI Conference Proceedings: Making the Connection (Washington, D.C.; College for Continuing Education, Gallaudet University, 1999. 120.

National Deaf-Mute College was founded in 1864—known as Gallaudet University today. Exactly 130 years later, Deaf Studies program switched the lights on and invited students in to study and research. That was when I was a senior in high school when it was founded. However, there was resistance involved with the idea of the program, “This is partially due to the fact that Deaf Studies was already taught across the curriculum at Gallaudet University and partially due to resistance within Gallaudet University, for fear that such a program would foment resistance and activism. In any event, the solidification of a department was an important moment in the field’s history, as was the formation of its graduate program in 2002” (the undergraduate program was founded by Dr. Yerker Andersson and the graduate program by Drs. Ben Bahan, MJ Bienvenu and H-Dirksen Bauman)

I am perpetually honored and humbled to serve as the only hearing member of the Deaf Studies program at the world’s only liberal arts university for Deaf and hard-of hearing students.” H-Dirksen Bauman

That is where the danger begins. That is a big hearing privilege.

Four years after the coinage of ‘Deaf Studies’, Tom Humphries coined the term, Audism, based on the Latin audire, meaning, “to hear”. In his original article, Humphries defined Audism as “the notion that one is superior based on one’s ability to hear or behave in the manner of one who hears”–Tom Humphries, Audism: The Making of a Word, unpublished, 1975.

Words have such power that they can bring respect or they can bring disrespect, as is shown by current Gallaudet University Alumni Association (GUAA) president, Alyce Slater Reynolds and its association/board. They have had nothing to protest the word, EPHPHATHA today. They had alienated Deaf people, and their words could never help us to concentrate on our own nature. Their words are associated with the charging of ongoing oppression.

There is another crucial point to make about words, which we do not wish to talk about. However, we need to talk about our nature. What is wrong with it?

Paddy Ladd writes a powerful chapter, Colonialism and Resistance: A Brief History of Deafhood—-that questions why EPHPHATHA is not being discussed in Deaf Studies, We now face the challenge of bringing about the second phase, to search for more explicit Deaf epistemologies and ontologies that can frame these developments in a more holistic way, so that Deaf Studies can become a more conscious model for Deaf-centered praxis

That is exactly why EPHPHATHA should be more conscious model to discuss in classrooms—and one of the reasons we may find nature of the Deaf hard to believe in—even when it has been demonstrated to us—is that we have lost our connection to nature. The lack of action from GUAA would be unlikely to hold true for most Deaf people today, for the way we think of nature has changed.

Flash: Bauman, the only hearing member writes in his own words, “Even within the field of Deaf Studies, perspectives of Deaf people are often not valued. Many programs call themselves Deaf Studies but are actually based on an audiological model…”

EPHPHATHA is an audiologically model that will not allow to discuss in classrooms or you get in trouble. Bauman has the power as a department chair that will not allow discussions about this at all. You know what will happen next? TROUBLE. For example, in 1972, there was a tragic day in my motherland, Ireland, dealt with ‘Bloody Sunday’ and within a year before; ‘Deaf Studies’ was created.

‘Bloody Sunday’ was a national tragic day for Ireland. British soldiers shot 26 unharmed Irish people during a protest march. The same idea that ‘Deaf Studies’ applies to oppression, hegemony, language racism, and language bigotry what was going on in Ireland.

A better course for Deaf Studies would be to examine the situation in identity politics now, learn from the past, think about the beyond-identity issues floating in the public sphere, come up with flexible and nonhierarchical models of being, and lead the way out of the dead end of identity thinking”Lennard Davis

13 yeas later after the graduate program was created, Bauman is in charge today. Think about it. Remember, resistance and activism.

Yet, Bauman writes, From Desloges to Veditz to the formation of Deaf Studies, Deaf people have been defending the right to use sign language, the right to intermarry, and the right not to be subjected to medical and religious cures, the right simply to be left alone…while Deaf Studies has proven the existence of Deaf Culture, the cultural argument is often not enough to convince hearing doctors and parents to cease their endless search for a cure.”

Why should society want to keep and promote Deaf people? What good are Deaf people to society? What good are Deaf children to a family? These difficult questions must now be explored if the Deaf world is to continue in the face of biopower institutions intent on the eradication of the Deaf community.”

As Gallaudet alumni, nature is considered part of the family. I recognize that every alumnus and alumni, they do not talk about it to hearing people, they do have their own guiding spirit. Isn’t that part of our nature of being Deaf?

In terms of language, let’s start by defining EPHPHATHA. The English language has a very strange inference of curing ears, and the speakers of English assume from their own inference that being Deaf is pathological. The English language dictionary defines EPHPHATHA: the Greek form of a Syro-Chaldaic or Aramaic word, meaning “Be opened,” uttered by Christ when healing the man who was deaf and dumb (Mark 7:34). It is one of the characteristics of Mark that he uses the very Aramaic words which fell from our Lord’s lips. (See 3:17; 5:41; 7:11; 14:36; 15:34.)

Once again, Bauman writes, “How would the world be affected negatively by the loss of Deaf communities?” The speakers of English are very comfortable applying the word at Gallaudet University. It is a loss that affects Deaf community. Why not Bauman enforce and allow EPHPHATHA in the classrooms to be part of academic discussion? Remember Bloody Sunday 1972.

After all, EPHPHATHA is a Bloody Sunday.
