Ending The Legacy of Cochlear Implants in Media
It is time to submit a new legislative bill that will be in the service of truth, fairness, constitutionality, justice and equality under the law as it pertains to America’s thousands of shamed, humiliated, ostracized and persecuted Deaf people. Nancy Rourke, the Deaf master artist painted this image above to show that cochlear implants has spilled toxic water on Deaf children everyday.
Few weeks ago, I was hanging out around National Mall and saw a group of cochlear implant users, the question popped up into my mind thinking, “why cannot people see that cochlear implant companies are the supermall of the confirmation culture, where people are instantly introduced to all of the lies and myths about Deaf people?” That makes a good target for Deaf babies; children and young people for greedy cochlear implant makers. Audiologists, speech therapies, doctors, hospital representatives, stockbrokers, teachers, government agencies and more to list do not listen to Deaf people very well. Aren’t the cochlear implant makers responsible for the “confirmation culture”?
The cochlear implant companies are freighted with insufficiently examined premises. Three examples will illustrate the point. The first is that the sign language is inevitable for the Deaf people. It is not accidental. A second premise underlying the cochlear implant companies broke with Deaf people: Deaf people became oppressed, and their language and culture suppressed. And third, to meet personal needs the Deaf people become supplicants of Audists.
Economic and personal financial ladder climbing is the disease at the heart of our today’s supposedly democratic system. We have forgotten to fight for each other for the benefit of our whole society: Deafhood. Instead, we have been sold on the idea that individual self-sufficiency is the highest philosophy for living one’s life. Cochlear implant makers are the favorite cousins in Capitalism that is anti-democratic by its very nature—destroying Deaf identity. It is the same system that will make those makers rich. Very rich. They control the political power. By using political power to shut up Deaf people is not democratically equal, cochlear implant makers are just another economic terminology that must never be allowed to supersede “greater political equality” in Deaf world. I’d rather live in a society of inefficient than a society of wealthy politicians and power brokers to take advantage of Deaf people today.
There is no technology or means of predicting the future actions of a Deaf person. To hold all Deaf children and people is to hold them hostage to the actions of cochlear implant companies that they have no control over. I know for a fact that the cochlear implant companies are spreading news through government agencies and schools for the Deaf to sell their products. I know that Deaf people had been a subject for a study for very long time. However, we are not rats that run and run through the maze, a little bit faster each time. Are we any closer to determining the reason of “the state of being Deaf?”

Intellectual Property in Hospitals: Driving Force for Cochlear Implants

Happy one year anniversary! That is the day I suffered heart attack at age of 38, before entering into hospital walls to prepare for an emergency room, I can remember very clearly that I was treated well with two paramedics in the ambulance making sure I am OK, they were professional and I appreciated their service very much. The professionalism I endured into the emergency room was capricious and harsh where the doctor asked me if I would like to receive a cochlear implant, of course, I was disconcerted more than anything. Not only that, but I had two witnesses that day next to me as well. It actually happened.
That doctor need to learn her actions that had consequences because she was lenient. The hospital allowed her to escape punishment, there is an idea that the hospital rules for the doctors to have the right to preach genocidal dictators against Deaf people, it is very real concern that has generated a lot of public oppression. It appears that doctor literally got away with Audism, calling attention to the relationship between wealth, privilege and justice. Encouraging cochlear implants in hospitals, the spread of these “disorders” with very limited scientific way to prove, has been very alarming. Driving all of it, of course is the cochlear implant makers and the increasing use of “hearing” as a form of social control. Cochlear implants does not tell doctors everything.
How might the scales of justice tip towards Deaf people with more resources in hospitals? As much as it is invisible in hospitals, it needs to stop their open secrets. Hospitals needs to be more sympathetic to Deaf patients, not the doctors. The Deaf people are the pillars of the community, and the rules of hospital justices are occasionally applied differently from medical arrogance, dividing up Deaf community. Not only that but the doctors would get a lot of money or commission if they succeed their job. I mean, they do not get like five dollars for their commission, no….I mean, a lot of money. Two figures or maybe more. Who knows?
I just realized that the doctors are “power-tripping” their own social behaviors that violates cultural norms towards Deaf people. The cochlear implant makers are teaching the doctors to welcome rising diagnosis rates as evidence that being Deaf is a disorder that needs to be recognized, even though there are many weak evidence about the success of cochlear implants, they must learn that cochlear implant must be shared with or sold to other doctors with the information which can be a diversion long tolerated in hospital settings and gaining ignorance in high-achieving medical practices are particularly dangerous, the doctors are becoming more dangerous because of their medical privileges being abused.
The real truth is that the sounds through cochlear implants are very much part of man-made known as synthetical.
Deaf patients who comes in emergency rooms will likely to be treated with all kinds of flavors and fun packs, brainwashing them to make sure they are designed to push themselves as lab rats to get cochlear implants to be part of standardized test maze the cochlear implant companies and the hospitals agree to create in the medical system.
The doctors in white lab coats are identified as symbols of oppression around Deaf patients, in fact, when it comes to Deaf patients, the discussion often forward as they are seen as uniquely non-oppressive people that they needs to be hear again with their ears. Ironic, right? The factuality of Cochlear Implant is more complex and challenging today and tomorrow.
Let’s get all together and play a board game, Monopoly….shall we?

Cochlear Implants: A Legacy of Lies
Speaking of Audism in a hospital I had endured back last February 2013, it is something that it cannot be cured. That doctor who asked me if I want a cochlear implant during my heart attack stage tried to lock me up in a cage like I need to act like hearing person. Any doctors in that day who believes in witch doctoring along with medical doctoring should not be wandering outside on her own. During my two days there, I thrived and survived, I was one of those patients of their “think-hearing” mode through doctors’ orders that they should be on endangered list. Even though I had an interpreter during the whole time, it is one thing for a doctor to subscribe to believability as a sort of death wish to make Deaf patients act and think like hearing. It is something else that that doctor tried to make me suffer for my own delusions.
Cochlear implant is a mad fraud. The truth is that what has distinguished this smooth talking and congenial tool is that the cochlear implant companies have a plan to make Deaf patients even children suffer the worst of all. Their plan is to make a dream and Deaf children getting their nightmares. It leads with a lie—namely to control money by spending money and false myths—the companies’ plan is clearly about lack of insecurity, not only that but making Deaf people suffer and work longer before receiving curtailed benefits, threatening their lives not to act like Deaf person anymore instead to invest more into “hearing” mode. That doctor opened my floodgates to understand and protect future Deaf children to the rapacious cochlear implant companies to feed the sharks with money to make profit.
Are those cochlear implant companies too busy to challenge the truth and also too fearful of trying to defend their lies and plutocratic values to the likes of their own theories? The cochlear implant companies also sets up complicated relations between belonging and alienation, identity and identification, subjectivation, and subjectification inside the hospitals. Deaf people’s everyday lives are articulated by and with culture. It needs to investigate how Deaf people are empowered and disempowered by the particular structures and forces that organize their everyday lives in many ways, and how their lives are also articulated to and is strongly influenced by economic, social, cultural and course, political power. Audism is at best to describe the mood there.
Perhaps the single greatest camera technique occurs at the culmination of each episode. Reversing the famed Hitchcock’s God’s Eye Shot, the camera shoots from low to high, pulling slowly up and away from the characters so that a panorama of the entire street, then the entire city, can be seen. As the street becomes visible, the viewer sees a larger area of devastation and some kind of infestation. The camera pulls away further, suggesting a view of human live as very small. If the God’s Eye Shot represents as unseen worldly omnipotent vantage point, then the inverse of this shot suggest something more sinister. The camera angle suggests a godless state, spiritual hopelessness, and no omnipresence to suggest hope for the future.
Comfort and complacency juxtaposes with poverty, myth and survival. I was placed in a hospital, emerging from a heart attack, to face a new apocalyptic reality if I receive cochlear implant. The same hospital I stayed at, it was supposed to be a place for health and healing, is now a repository for genocide to wipe Deaf people out. Society no longer responds to the needs of its members. The hospital, like society is now deserted. The only signs of “life” emerge from a desperately quarantined room with an ominous warning on the door: “DO not open! Deaf person inside!”—I watched in disbelief and fear as the door heaves forward, opening slightly. I am not a child anymore!
Did I get a chance to emerge from the freedom accompanied by an unearthly cacophony of calling moans of the doctors? My experience had been physically and metaphorically allowed me to close my eyes to the realities of horrors in civil society. Now, in a frail human state of emotional disorientation, and physical weakness from heart attack, I refuse to become an unwitting candidate in a living nightmare for cochlear implant. I stay with Deaf identity now and forever. I shall die Deaf. I rather pick heart attack over forcing to get a cochlear implant anytime. Now this is my second time I suffered heart attack. Most recent: November 1st, 2013. This time, they did not ask me if I wanted a cochlear implant. Smart move!
